Choirokoitia is an archeological site on the main Larnaka-Lemesos road. Dating from the Neolithic Age, it has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1998 and is one of the earliest permanent human settlements in Cyprus. The Choirokoitians lived in stone huts and around 60 of these have been identified by their remains inside the perimeter wall. Reconstructions of these dwellings are well worth a look to imagine how the ancient people lived. There is a series of walkways that overlook the key points of the site, leading to the top of the hill where the best remains are. There is ample parking and a cafe.
